Currently, S+ using the program folder to save the configuration, like: Strokesplus.xml, StrokesPlus.lua.
When we want to uninstall/and reinstall S+ again, these config file will be removed, we lost all settings!
We need upgrade the program, save these file under %user%\Application Data Folder.
Anyway, we should ask the user to keep or remove the settings during unsintall.

To be honest, I think I'm going to stop publishing the MSI packages..it's just a pain in the ass that I don't want to deal with =)
Not saying I'm going to just yet..but I might! MSI is supposed to leave modified files alone, and did when I tested; but I rarely do anything with the packages as they're such a pain to work with for such a small return. |

It's not much better for the ZIP archives. Overwriting those config files by accident is quite possible. Caution is advised. |

Good point. I'll make two sets of ZIPs from now on (or until I get around to a making simple, all inclusive installer); one for the whole app, one with only files changed for that release. |

Added in 1.9.1:
Ability to specify a custom location for StrokesPlus.xml (main config file); StrokesPlus.lua and Language.xml are derived from the command-line parameter so the config must be name be "StrokesPlus.xml". See http://www.strokesplus.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=347 for more details
Beginning with 2.5.0 a new installer is in place which doesn't overwrite user-modified files. |
