Suppose I have 10 global actions and one application-specific action that shares a gesture with one of the global actions. The checkbox allows me to disregard global actions when the specific application is in the foreground, but the problem with this is that I have only one
shared gesture so I am unable to utilize any of the 9 other global actions in that
particular application even though there are no shared gestures for the remaining 9 actions.

Am I missing something in the configuration? Is there a way around this?

I hope that makes sense.

Application-specific gestures are recognized/processed before global gestures, so you shouldn't need to use the checkbox. If no match is found for the foreground window, it will then check Global Actions.
