acRunProgram starts ".exe" but NOT ".jar" files

  • start perfectly:
    acRunProgram("\\Backup\\!Apps\\LiberKey\\MyApps\\Internet\\TV\\Mediathek\\MediathekView.exe")

  • can't start
    acRunProgram("\\Backup\\!Apps\\LiberKey\\MyApps\\Internet\\TV\\Mediathek\\MediathekView.jar")

JAR-Files're associated with "jPortable Launcher (64-bit)", so it can be started via windows explorer using Java located in "PortableApps\CommonFiles" ... and it does. But not with SP via mouse gesture. Another EXE-files start fine with SP. Same with jDownloader: EXE - yes, JAR - nope.

Try acShellExecute instead, that is the equivalent of double-clicking a file. acRunProgram will only run actual executable files.

Thank you, Rob.

1. Another issue with same gravity. Can I use relative paths e.g. "..\..\..\name.exe" instead of that absolute paths.
2. MediathekView.jar c:\temp -M, so even for second path parameter I need to use absolute path. Again, how's the right syntax.
