I got a new Dell laptop with Alps instead of Synaptics touchpad. Would it be possible to suport this type of touchpad too.

Unfortunately, Alps doesn't appear to have a SDK like Synaptics, so that's pretty much a showstopper. Even the Synaptics SDK is limited and over a decade old, not given options for their newer hardware.
