Notes: The unsigned installers create a shortcut in Startup; the signed versions do not since the user needs to take some sort of action, be it running manually as administrator or by specifying a custom config path (since it must be run from a protected folder). Signed installers also attempt to install the certificate; while I've tested on my machine and a clean Win8 VM, I can't be certain this will always work. StrokesPlus.cer will be installed in the destination folder, in case you need to manually import (to Trusted Root Certification Authories).
All installers will NOT overwrite StrokesPlus.xml, StrokesPlus.lua, or ActionHelp.xml (since some may have a translated version). So if you just want to update to the latest version, you can run the setup and not worry about losing anything.
The ZIP downloads contain both signed and unsigned versions as well as the certificate for manual installation.
Change Log: - Updated learn gesture dialog to no longer call setLastActive() on close due to Windows 8 oddities. No significant impact to other versions of Windows. - Added the following nodes to language.xml to support added hotkey buttons: language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_BACK language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_FORWARD language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_REFRESH language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_STOP language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_SEARCH language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_FAVORITES language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.BROWSER_HOME language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.VOLUME_MUTE language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.VOLUME_DOWN language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.VOLUME_UP language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.MEDIA_NEXT_TRACK language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.MEDIA_PREV_TRACK language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.MEDIA_STOP language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.LAUNCH_MAIL language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.LAUNCH_MEDIA_SELECT language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.LAUNCH_APP1 language.Hotkeys.HotkeysFrame.Keys.LAUNCH_APP2
Note: If there is a program running (like Microsoft's itype.exe) which handles these special keys, it may consume the key event even if you designate the key as disabled in the program. For example, when testing, I created a hotkey using only the BROWSER HOME key in S+. I opened the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center, selected the Browser Home key and picked Disabled. The key no longer opened the browser, but S+ never received the hotkey message unless the S+ Settings window was open and had focus. It would seem that the program is leaving the hotkey registered with Windows, but simply doesn't do anything with it. If I killed the itype.exe process, the S+ hotkey worked in all programs. This behavior could be similar for other keyboard programs. If you want itype.exe to run because you have other keys it handles that you want to function, I would recommend setting the key to a hotkey combination which you assign in S+. For example, in the Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Center, select the Home key and assign it a hotkey of Control+Alt+F6. Then, in S+, create your hotkey and bind it to Control+Alt+F6. When you press the Home button on the keyboard, itype.exe fires the Control+Alt+F6 hotkey which S+ picks up and fires the action. |
