Naturally, it seems a new major version number should include a major feature or change.
S+ 2.0 changed the whole interface, bringing the disparate windows into the current tabbed interface.
Being at 2.8.1.1 means we're getting closer to 3.0, but I don't have anything lined up to signify a major version.
What do you think would be an appropriate update to warrant a new major version number?
I expect a LOT of ideas, some plausible and some simply too dramatic, but I welcome your thoughts as I do all of this mostly for you folks. |

Some ideas:
- gaming-friendly mode - different stroke button for each gesture - full unicode support - cross-platform support (yeah, the huge one )
and the most important idea: avoid the bloat! |

Some more ideas
1. Support for non Stroke button gestures especially left mouse click ( like proper rocker gesture of Right Click and continuous left Click when stroke button is Right , Left Click plus wheel , left click plus middle click etc ) 2. Hold gestures , like hold left button for 3 seconds do some action
Other than that S+ is pretty much complete |

first, a litte cosmetics: - display inactive actions in light grey for a better overview - add shortcuts CTRL+C and CTRL+V for copy & paste actions between apps
further, I'd prefer to not have a cancel delay at all for actions that involve only buttons (no gestures). For instance, I use right mouse + middle mouse to toggle mute in a global action. However, I have to release the right button within the cancel delay to get the action triggered. It'd be more intuitive to release the middle button, no matter which delay, to trigger the action. (not sure if I'm missing sth there...)
Finally, a vague idea: Are you familiar with EventGhost? It's pretty cool for PC automation and communication with remote devices (e.g., sending messages, files etc. to your smart phone and vice versa). Could be interesting to combine EG with S+ somehow... |

Hi there:)
here is some of my just-ideas - not requests: all about GUI
-make a "hide button" to hide an upper gesture-settings area to extend space for "lua script" area. -add a width control to the app/gesture list (down to hide-it-completely) -shorten window edges -shorten the gap between app/gesture list items (may be reducing gesture icons) -shorten the gap between mouse/key modifiers and basically all the stuff... -put auto safe|help|ok|cancel buttons at the same line with add app|add action|rename|delete -change all buttons (except apply|ok|cancel) to iconized ones like these with popping-up tips -automatic and user defined app list icons

Idea for advanced users - dynamic gestures: make s+ check the drawing gesture every, say, ~100ms and if there would exist only one action corresponding to that gesture, then s+ should execute it (only when a certain command is defined in that action script). It really is hard to explain)
here is an example for setting the volume: action gesture:"V" shape action script:
currentY=acGetMouseLocationY() acDynamicGesture(50) --enable dynamic gesture. execute every 50ms until the stroke button has released acSetVolume((currentY-acGetMouseLocationY())/10,1) acDynamicGesture(end) --end of dynamic gesture
--after the stroke button is released execute the rest of the script --no matter what shape appeared to be drawn
acMessageBox(acGetVolume(),'the volume is set to:',nil)

Two idea: 1. Add one/two Document(s) for Actions/Hotkeys, one xml file for one App, easy for manage and easy for share.
2. Add an option for select language, in case translation errors. |

Some suggestions: 1.Add a function like 'acCancel', if this function was called inside sp_before_action, action of current gesture won't be execute.
2.How abont support elan's touchpad? currently s+'s gesture only work with synaptics touchpad
3.More direct access to windows api? |

One more suggestion: Make it possible to set different "Match probability" for different gestures in case some complicated gestures are hard to be recognize. |

First of all, this is a fantastic program! It would be great to have a in-program option to save settings (strokesplus.xml) to a cloud service, and to be able to download it easily on other computers. |

I dont know if you are interested in supporting gestures on a trackpad.
But since I use StrokesPlus on a laptop, I thought it would be great to have a more universal way to support gestures on trackpads.
For instance, Jitouch on OSX implemented a good way to recognize trackpad gestures. Demo Video: http://www.jitouch.com/characters/
The way it works is that if you put second and fourth fingers thus have a small gap in between, then it thinks you are starting a gesture, rather scrolling which often have the fingers close by without a gap.
I am not sure how Windows recognizes trackpad inputs, but if there's anyway you can capture the distance between the fingers on a trackpad, this would be great.
Hope you get interested and have a look into it, thanks! |

This sounds like it could fit nicely with a feature request I just made, to combine several gestures into a single action. I was also looking at setting system volume in a dynamic way. Maybe a post-gesture event hook could pull it all together?
The gesture script could look something like this.
1. Create a callback/timer event/whatever it's called "A" to change the volume 2. Create a callback "B" to cancel the first timeout and restore the gesture timeout to its current value 3. Register "A" to be executed at a some-milliseconds interval 4. Disable the gesture timeout, if it's currently set 5. Register callback "B" to be run after the gesture ends
...Of course, I just realized that 'after the gesture ends' is immediately before the script is invoked. Hm. This is why compound or multi-stage gestures would appear to be the required feature. Set up a timer-driven action that begins after the first gesture in an action is recognized, and destroy that timer after the last gesture component ends. |

1. When a gesture used by another action, we do not see in drop-down list.
2. Please add Export/Import... Export all actions and per application action. When we can export and import "Per App Action", we could build a subtopic in forum and share this. e.g. "Photoshop cc S+ Actions" By Babakm...

possibility to switch from StrokesPlus.xml default to others so also can define "modes" without intervent user programming in any internal script (without my possibility now to make this using a script)...
my StrokesPlus.xml is a lite version , so i delete most of important gestures and i redifine "more simples one"
(XML removed) |

while in training mode or a new mode that you would create, can you let a display on which would do following.
" which app and action is the gesture i am going to draw is associated with ? "

- A portable version, so that when we take out browsers etc as portable apps, we can take all gestures and S+ along with too - Please stress on Macro Recording with S+ using the mouse clicking, etc (on the pattern of IMACROS(its limited to browsers)) It will also immensely useful for apps, where shortcuts are not possible/available
We all know there is a GAP in this category of full OS gesture softwares which macro support. Prolly there are none! Think about it. Will only add more users to S+. Further if S+ can make it easier for use with AutoHotKey, there wud be no stopping S+
